The HR Generalist will assist the HR Manager in the administration and strategic support of HR processes, procedures, and systems. The HR Generalist will provide as back-up for the HR Manager supporting a 24/7 operation. Job Responsibilities
- Lead plant entry level and skilled hourly talent acquisition initiatives.
- Responsible for managing mid-level employee relations issues including but not limited to counseling, coaching, and corrective actions.
- Manage FMLA information including: forms, approval progress, return to work dates, time card updates, etc. and serve as first point of contact.
- Responsible for benefit updates including communicating employer response and follow-up, system audits, etc.
- Coordinate and facilitate a variety of employee meetings and engagement events.
- Assist with worker’s compensation investigations and collecting data.
- Assist HR Manager with facilitating new hire orientations.
- Responsible for New Hire Appraisal Monitoring including reviews and points.
- All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies and procedures.
- All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years HR experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Must be legally authorized to work for a company in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- 3 or more years of HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in hourly talent acquisition processes and strategy.
- HRIS experience (preferably SAP SuccessFactors, Kronos).
- Familiar with HR policies and procedures (employment law, FMLA, etc.)
- Ability to make sound, independent decisions based on management expertise and experience.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve.
- Occasional exposure to industrial operations including: temperature extremes from approximately 35ºF to 100ºF; noise levels in excess of 85 dB; moisture and moving machinery.
- Work is performed in an office setting.
