Summary of Position:

Responsible for increasing GTS profit through the sale of all product categories. Communicates directly with Subcontractors, General Contractors, GTS employees and vendors on a regular basis.

Key Result Areas:

Sales

  • Focus on increased sales of all categories, drywall, steel, insulation, acoustical, tools, fire stop and caulking products, masking and floor protection and fasteners throughout the customer base.
  • Focus on identifying and opening new accounts.
  • Identify new marketing opportunities.
  • Expand value-added product offerings.
  • Grow sales in identified product categories per management.
  • Maintain and grow sales with General Contractors, Facility and Maintenance divisions of: hospitals, schools, property management companies, etc.
  • Generate customer loyalty.
  • Meets or exceeds sales and gross profit objectives.
  • Negotiates customer pricing within established pricing matrix.
  • Maintains key customer relationships.
  • Follows up on sales or product leads.
  • Implements sales programs developed at corporate regional levels as directed by management.

Customer Service

  • Provide superior customer service by meeting/exceeding customer needs and expectations.
  • Resolves customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Value added selling by providing extra services to customers, such as job leads, product specifications, builder information or market data.

Safety and Cleanliness

  • Maintains clean, obstacle-free work area.
  • Operates equipment only if fully trained and qualified.
  • Performs work in a safe manner and assists others as needed.
  • Adheres to all GMS/GTS personnel policies and guidelines.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong customer and vendor relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to forecast and meet or exceed sales objectives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize work and manage time effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as an integral member of a team to meet company objectives.

Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

  • Formal training or education in marketing and sales.
  • Thorough knowledge of company products and their use.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform detail work with accuracy, thoroughness, and timeliness.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain courteous and professional while under pressure.
  • Profit margin calculations and an overall high-level grasp of mathematics
  • Ability to work independently and make good decisions.
  • Computer literate, proficient in utilizing sales tools and strong typing skills.

Physical Demands:

  • Provide jobsite support and assist with building material deliveries.
  • Ability to move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
  • Operate basic office machinery
  • Allocate +50% of work time calling on customers in the market

Estimated Compensation Range: $85k to $165k+ (base + commission)

** This pay range is a reasonable estimate made in good faith of the possible compensation at the time of the posting of this position. However, the Company may ultimately pay more or less than this range.
