You will have the important role of executing robotic sample preparation in a regulated Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) setting to support Pfizer’s vaccine programs according to Standard Operating Procedures. In addition, you will also support throughput activities and provide testing support for clinical and non-clinical research programs. Your strong foundation in general scientific practice, its principles and concepts will help in meeting critical deadlines. You will be relied on as a technical contributor to assess the assigned tasks and make decisions that involve direct application of your knowledge. - Exercise and build basic team effectiveness skills {e.g., commitment, feedback, consensus management} within the immediate work group.
- Perform job responsibilities in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices/ Good Laboratory Practice (cGMP/GLP) and all other regulatory agency requirements.
- Assist in updating and writing documents associated with bio-functional assays, including information/data archiving, Standard Operating Procedure and status reports.
- Assist in ordering supplies from internal inventory and prepare supplies necessary for bio-functional assay work.
- Performs sample preparation for preclinical and clinical serology assays to support vaccine development and clinical studies. This includes manual and robotic sample preparation, use and maintenance of appropriate equipment, and preparation of relevant reagents.
- Complete required documentation for all laboratory work. This includes the use of laboratory information management systems and/or paper forms.
- Stay current on all departmental and corporate training.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related Science field, with 0-2 years relevant experience
- Strong attention to detail and ability to collaborate and work in team environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good Computer skills including word processing, Excel, PowerPoint and relevant scientific software
- Pharmaceutical and biotech drug discovery experience
- Knowledge of automated liquid handlers
- Experience in a high throughput setting
- Work is primarily performed at the laboratory bench and at an office desk using a computer.
- The job involves lifting relatively light loads, not more than 30 pounds.
- This position might require occasional weekend work to meet critical timelines.
