Description

As a Reference Data Associate, you will act as a data steward for core front office coverage reference data across the firm's global Corporate Investment Banking businesses (Banking, Markets and Securities Services). You and your team proactively manage and analyzes the primary party reference data in support of front office reporting initiatives. Party reference data is at the heart of every transaction executed by the firm, and connects parties to contracts, accounts, and transactions. The team is directly involved in meeting the evolving business and regulatory demands with the goals of improving the client experience, simplifying operations, and enhancing analytical capabilities. The data is sourced, validated, and distributed via J.P. Morgan's strategic reference data platform(s) and is used is used for corporate financing, trading, risk management, settlement and regulatory reporting.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and maintain data integrity in core client reference data systems of core business reporting structures
  • Regular investigation and maintenance of CIB portfolios and their respective reporting structures
  • Perform web-based research to find missing or additional information required to establish the correct legal entity relationship with strong interaction with Sales/Bankers, Service, Compliance and Business Management
  • Participate & coordinate strategic multifaceted projects such as: client data remediations, process improvement analysis, metrics and profitability reporting and analysis
  • Assisting in the development of system enhancements across core tools
  • Producing data visualizations and key performance metrics to senior management
  • Monitor Business as Usual work queue and clears them on a timely basis

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
  • Analytical and quantitative skills, including effective data analysis, investigative problem-solving skills, and ability to make sound decisions about risks and recommend appropriate corrective action
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and bring tasks to completion within established timeframes
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Preferred experience in data management, process management, business management
  • Interact with Product, Technology and Operations team to understand and clarify the requirements
  • Independent and self-motivated
  • A proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues, and having the determination to follow through
