Job SummaryResponsible for reviewing and negotiating all manner of commercial contracts to support the Procurement department. Essential Functions Serve as primary administrator for all commercial contracts received in contracts portal by using independent judgment and discretion to analyze terms based on experience and understanding of CenterPoint's circumstances and tolerance for risk. Assist Senior Counsel and Associate General Counsel in handling initial detailed legal review for substantial portion of commercial contracts, including NDAs, master service agreements, IT SaaS and licensing agreements, consulting services, and construction agreements, among others. Collaborate with Legal Department, Procurement Department and internal stakeholders in updating commercial contract templates, playbooks, processes and procedures, checklists and policies, as needed. Support Procurement Department with legal review, revision and negotiation of large numbers of detailed, frequently complex purchasing transactions. Coordinate with CenterPoint business clients, internal stakeholders, and vendors, using independent judgment and discretion, in providing legal guidance and direction in connection with purchasing transactions. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with CenterPoint business clients, internal stakeholders and vendors. Possess a team player mindset, willing and motivated to continuously improve internal processes, while balancing process challenges. Ability to handle a fast-paced workload, with multiple workstreams, to meet competing deadlines. Education Description Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. Experience Seven (7) or more years of relevant work experience reviewing commercial contracts, or a contracts law based discipline.
