What does a day in the life look like?
Essential Functions and Key Accountabilities
Direct supervision of all Product Technicians in the shipping and receiving area.
Track outbound shipments.
Monitor the delivery performance of suppliers.
Work with freight companies.
Assist in loading and unloading of trucks.
Monitor service part shipments.
Track premium freight.
Enter material into the QAD system.
Monitor scrap & and trash dumpsters.
Other duties as assigned.
Safety:
Work safely and encourage others to do so.
Report all unsafe acts and conditions immediately.
Use our Innovation process and the team concept to improve safety in the plant.
Be proactively involved in improving working conditions.
Quality:
Offer ideas for improvement of all systems and help implement them.
Lead area in achieving plant quality objectives/goals.
100% on-time delivery to customers.
Understand customer needs and work towards meeting and exceeding them.
Housekeeping:
Maintain the appearance of a World Class Facility
Actively support full implementation of the 5S’s, using it to approach and keep all areas clean, neat, and properly maintained.
Continuous Improvement/ Training:
Actively involved with the Metalsa Model practices.
Education & Experience:
High school/GED- Required. Some college- preferred.
Must possess strong math and reading skills.
3 or more years in a leadership role within shipping and receiving required.
Knowledge of handling and storage of hazardous-to-health chemicals.
Knowledge of the liabilities of freight systems is a must.
Participation in a significant role on the MOS, either deploying a practice, training in a tool or methodology, leading problem-solving, or other applied leadership experience.
Technical Skills:
Proficient computer skills/Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
Basic Trouble Forklift license is required.
Proficient in QAD systems
Quality Management Systems
Human Development Management
Cross-functional leadership
Environmental, Health, Safety, and Sustainability Management Fundamentals.
Core Manufacturing Processes (Stamping, Assembly, Painting, Welding)
Logistics.
