JEAN-MICHEL BASQUIAT: KING PLEASURE© PRESENTED BY THE FAMILY OF JEAN-MICHEL BASQUIAT Job Description: Stock Room Lead (full-time) Los Angeles, CA About the Exhibition Organized and curated by the family of Jean-Michel Basquiat – his two sisters, Lisane and Jeanine and his stepmother Nora Fitzpatrick - this exhibition of over 200 never before and rarely seen paintings, drawings, multimedia presentations, ephemera and artifacts will tell the story of Jean Michel from the intimate perspective of his family, intertwining his artistic endeavors with his personal life, influences and the times in which he lived. His contributions to the history of art and his exploration into our multifaceted culture - incorporating music, the black experience, pop culture, African American sports figures, literature, and other sources – is showcased through immersive environments providing unique insight into Jean-Michel’s creative life and his unique voice that propelled the social and cultural narrative that continues to this day. This experiential event designed by David Adjaye Associates first opened in New York City in April of 2022 and is now opening in LA, March 2023 and possibly other cities. As part of the exhibition there will be a curated event space where community, creative, and educational programs will be held. Position Overview The Stock Room Lead is responsible for receiving and processing shipments, monitoring inventory levels, and maintaining the stockroom. They will play a critical role in the retail team, working behind the scenes to provide support that will drive sales. Start date – February 2022 The installation will be open to the public until January 2023 Main Responsibilities Serve as main contact for all deliveries, including but not limited to retail merchandise, office supplies and any other site deliveries Responsible for monitoring and maintaining appropriate inventory levels Ensure retail merchandise is accurately received, inspected and processed Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient stockroom while adhering to company standards and safety requirements Ensure proper merchandise presentation is maintained in accordance with company standards Provide clear communication to management regarding product & supply levels and other needs Support sales associates in maximizing the shopping experience for customers Support the GM on miscellaneous facility shipments Unload pallets and use handtrucks Organize Back of House Stockroom for Retail and E-Commerce Skills and Desirable Qualities ∙ Minimum of 1-3 years of retail experience in stocking, inventory, warehouse or merchandising ∙ A passion for the work of Jean-Michel Basquiat ∙ Strong interpersonal skills with a positive and engaging attitude ∙ Experience managing inventory and POS systems ∙ Works well in a team environment ∙ Strong work ethic and organizational abilities ∙ Able to operate a pallet jack, AWP machine and other heavy equipment ∙ Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, stand for long periods of time, reach, kneel, stoop, and climb ladders ∙ Able to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of the business, including weekends, evenings, holidays, and call-in shifts Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary Pay: $21.00 per hour Benefits: Employee discount Flexible schedule Paid training Shift: Day shift Evening shift Morning shift Night shift Weekly day range: Monday to Friday Weekend availability Weekends only Ability to commute/relocate: Los Angeles, CA 90012: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Work Location: One location
